Train by Signals: Adjusting Intensity with Activity Data

Activity data becomes powerful when used for decisions, not just logging. The goal is to match training load to recovery state so progress is consistent.
One practical rule: if resting heart rate is elevated for multiple mornings and sleep quality is down, keep training but reduce intensity. Volume can stay moderate, strain should drop.
Daily steps are also a recovery marker. A major step count drop can signal hidden fatigue, stress accumulation, or poor time structure before workouts begin to suffer.
The best plans are adaptive. Keep your weekly structure, but let intensity float based on signals. That reduces injury risk and supports long-term adherence.
